As I write, Newcastle are struggling to hold SK Lillestrom to a draw in the first round of the Inter-Twobob Cup, have so far signed no-one this summer, Shearer has retired, and Owen's knee is fucked. They have also been linked to signing Juan Pablo Angel. Not looking good. Surely not?

Well, just signed Duff and beat Lillestrom 3-0. You could say I would be more than happy to make a bet that Newcastle WILL finish above the Ham this season.
